Tito Jackson, an original member of the iconic Jackson 5, passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 70. He died from a severe heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma. This devastating news comes as a shock to fans worldwide who cherished his contributions to the music industry.

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, Tito was the third of ten children in the renowned Jackson family. His musical journey began at a young age, playing guitar and performing with his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. The Jackson 5's unique sound and energetic performances quickly gained attention, leading to their signing with Motown Records in 1969.

As a key member of the Jackson 5, Tito played a crucial role in the group's success, which included hits like I WANT YOU BACK, ABC, THE LOVE YOU SAVE and I’LL BE THERE. The group's achievements were remarkable, with seventeen Top 40 singles on the Billboard chart in just five years, including six number-one R&B hits.

Tito's talent extended beyond his work with the Jackson 5. He began a solo career in 2003, performing as a blues musician, and released his debut album, TITO TIME, in 2016. The album featured the single GET IT BABY, which became a commercial success. His second solo album, UNDER YOUR SPELL was released in 2021, showcasing his blues skills and collaborations with notable artistes like Stevie Wonder and George Benson.

Throughout his career, Tito received numerous accolades, including three Grammy Award nominations and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Jackson 5. His legacy as a musician and member of the iconic Jackson family will be deeply missed.

Tito's personal life was marked by both joy and tragedy. He married Delores "Dee Dee" Martes in 1972, and they had three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ, who formed the R&B/pop group 3T. However, his wife's death in 1994 was a devastating blow, and her case remains a sensitive topic.

As fans mourn the loss of Tito Jackson, they also celebrate his remarkable life and contributions to music. His impact on the industry will continue to inspire future generations.
