U.S. President Donald Trump took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce a dramatic breakthrough: a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, marking the end of what he referred to as the “12 Day War.”

In a post published Tuesday, Trump wrote:

“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World.”



The statement quickly went viral, drawing global attention and sparking both praise and skepticism regarding the former president’s involvement in this unexpected diplomatic development.

While details of any official negotiation remain unclear, Trump’s announcement suggested a staggered ceasefire, with Iran halting hostilities first, followed by Israel 12 hours later, culminating in a formal end to the conflict after 24 hours.

In a significant development following Trump’s announcement, Iran has officially confirmed its agreement to the ceasefire with Israel, signaling a rare moment of de-escalation between the two longtime adversaries.

Iranian state media reported that the government had “accepted the terms of cessation of hostilities as coordinated through indirect diplomatic channels,” though no specific reference to U.S. mediation was made.

As of now, Israel has not issued a formal statement, but international observers note a noticeable reduction in military activity in the region. Geopolitical analysts are closely monitoring developments, given Trump’s unpredictable but sometimes effective diplomatic style, particularly in the Middle East.

If fully implemented, the ceasefire would bring a sudden halt to nearly two weeks of conflict that saw rising casualties, heightened regional tensions, and global calls for restraint.

The world now watches for confirmation from Israel—and whether the 24-hour timeline declared by Trump will mark a true turning point in this short but intense confrontation.
