Twenty One Pilots, the Grammy-winning duo from Columbus, Ohio, have announced their seventh studio album, BREACH, set for release in September, with the lead single THE CONTRACT dropping on June 12. Following the massive success of their 2024 album CLANCY, which sold over 143,000 copies in its first week and amassed over one billion global streams, BREACH promises to conclude the intricate narrative arc that began with 2015’s BLURRYFACE.

The duo, consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, teased the album through cryptic clues scattered across social media and their recent Clancy World Tour, which captivated over 1.1 million fans worldwide, culminating in two sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena in May 2025.

The announcement of BREACH coincides with the 10th anniversary of BLURRYFACE, a landmark album that earned a Guinness World Record as the first to have every track certified Gold or Platinum by the RIAA, amassing over 15 billion streams. The duo’s social media post, “Hello Clancy, hello Blurryface, let’s finish this,” signals that BREACH will tie together the lore of their fictional world, including characters like Clancy and Blurryface, which fans believed had concluded with CLANCY’s cliffhanger track PALADIN STRAIT.

The album’s artwork, featuring Joseph as Clancy and Dun under a red-vignette glow, echoes the aesthetic of CLANCY, hinting at a continuation of the duo’s genre-blending sound and thematic depth. Pre-orders for the Breach Vinyl and CD First Pressing Edition opened on May 21, 2025, fueling fan excitement.

Fresh off their triumphant Clancy World Tour, praised by Dork for its unifying motto, “We are Twenty One Pilots, and so are you,” the duo is poised to deliver another immersive experience with BREACH. The album’s rollout, marked by fan-driven puzzles and a viral resurgence of BLURRYFACE, DOUBT demo, which garnered over 1.8 billion TikTok views and 20 million streams, showcases their knack for engaging their dedicated fanbase.

As Twenty One Pilots prepare to wrap up a decade-long storyline that has defined their career, BREACH is set to be a bold finale, blending their signature mix of alternative, rock, and electronic sounds when it lands in September 2025.
