Grammy-winning South African artiste Tyla is set to make history as the first African to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. The 38th annual ceremony will air live on June 21, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
Known for her global hit WATER, Tyla’s appointment as host marks a significant milestone in her rapidly ascending career. She expressed her excitement on social media, stating, “I’m really about to host the Kids’ Choice Awards”.
In addition to hosting, Tyla has received nominations for Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Music Collaboration for her feature on WizTheMc and bees & honey’s Show Me Love.
The 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards will celebrate fan favorites across film, television, music, sports, and more, with voting open in 35 categories. The show will be broadcast across Nickelodeon and its affiliated channels, including TeenNick, Nicktoons, and MTV2.
