In a landmark move for Ghana’s music and creative industries, Virgin Music Group, the world’s leading partner to independent artistes and labels, has announced a global distribution partnership with Ghana’s premier digital and creative agency, MiPROMO.
The collaboration marks a new chapter in the international recognition of Ghanaian sound and artistry, blending Virgin’s global infrastructure with MiPROMO’s decade-long expertise in digital music distribution, branding, and artist development.

This new partnership promises to amplify that impact, giving Ghanaian artists greater access to international audiences, cutting-edge marketing strategies, and the support needed to sustain global careers.
“We see this partnership with MiPROMO as more than distribution,” said Kay Ikazoboh, Managing Director of Virgin Music Group Nigeria. “It’s about creating long-term opportunities for artists to thrive globally. Our goal is to expand Ghanaian talent’s reach and provide the resources, mentorship, and platforms they need to build lasting careers.”
Founded by Nii Abbey Mensah, MiPROMO has evolved into a creative media powerhouse in Ghana, providing digital distribution, social media marketing, branding, and event activation. Nii Abbey describes this partnership as “a pivotal moment in MiPROMO’s journey,” emphasizing that Ghana’s sound is now resonating far beyond its borders.
“By working with Virgin Music, we are better positioned to create the pathways and opportunities that will allow our artists to reach new audiences and establish Ghana as a powerhouse in global music,” he said.
MiPROMO’s leadership team, Jesse Ababio (Head of Content and Strategy), Vincent “Jaspa” Asare (Head of Acquisition and Distribution), and Cosmos Otchere (Head of Finance), echoed that the collaboration will not only elevate the visibility of Ghanaian musicians but also strengthen the infrastructure that supports them.
Virgin Music Group, which already has operations across Africa, has been steadily expanding its footprint through partnerships that empower independent artistes. With this Ghanaian alliance, the company reinforces its mission to invest in Africa’s creative ecosystem, was I’m this time focusing on one of the continent’s most vibrant and influential music markets.
From Afrobeats and Afro-fusion to Amapiano and highlife, Ghana continues to be a breeding ground for global sounds. This partnership arrives at a time when Ghanaian artists like Stonebwoy, Gyakie, King Promise, and Amaarae are gaining international acclaim, signaling a new era for the nation’s creative exports.
As the partnership takes shape, both Virgin Music Group and MiPROMO are expected to roll out programs that focus on artist mentorship, marketing collaborations, and content optimization ensuring that Ghana’s talent not only travels the world but thrives in it.
