Hollywood had a full-circle Wakanda moment over the weekend as three powerhouses, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira and Teyana Taylor stormed the runway at Vogue World; Hollywood 2025, held at the legendary Paramount Pictures Studios.
The event, which celebrated the rich history of film and fashion, turned into a cultural showcase when the stars stepped out in a Black Panther–inspired segment that paid tribute to the blockbuster’s global influence.

Angela Bassett, ever the queen, replayed her role as Queen Ramonda, walking gracefully in the same purple and gold gown designed by the Oscar-winning Ruth E. Carter for Black Panther Wakanda Forever. The audience erupted in cheers as she embodied that timeless royal poise that made her character unforgettable.

Joining her on the runway were Danai Gurira and Teyana Taylor, both channeling the fierce energy of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female royal guards. Dressed in the guards’ signature red and silver armor, the two delivered a performance that blended strength, fashion and culture in one powerful visual statement.

The moment was set to African drums and futuristic soundscapes, perfectly capturing the Afrofuturism spirit that defines Black Panther, honoring African ancestry while boldly imagining the future.
