She made this statement while speaking at the just-ended Entertainment Week Summit, where she joined other key figures in the entertainment industry to discuss the future of the creative economy.
According to Dentaa Amoateng, creators should not be seen only as local content producers but as intellectual assets capable of generating long-term economic value on the global stage. She emphasized that music, film, fashion, digital content and other creative outputs hold the potential to contribute significantly to national development when properly structured and protected.
Dentaa Amoateng stressed the need for stronger systems that support creators through education, legal frameworks and access to international markets.
She further pointed out that countries that have successfully positioned their creative industries globally have done so by investing in export strategies and global partnerships that allow creatives to scale beyond their home markets.
Touching on Ghana’s creative ecosystem, Dentaa Amoateng noted that the country possesses immense cultural capital that can be leveraged globally.
