Ghanaian musician Darkovibes has urged his fellow
Ghanaian musicians not to be offended if there is a greater preference for
Nigerian music.
In an interview on the Big Conversation segment on
Culture Daily, Darkovibes said he is heavy on Nigerian music these days.
He mentioned having the right to choose what he wants
to listen to.
When asked whether he gets offended when he hears Ghanaians
don't listen to Ghanaian music as much as they do Nigerian music, he told MzGee,
"Don't be offended; it's freedom of speech like I am saying. Don't stress.
Why are you coming to stress on somebody's taste?"
Further answering he said, "Focus on your taste…and
mind your own business. You know that will pay you but if you are there
worrying about somebody's business, you will be stressed.”
“If you had a choice of another Nigerian musician to
put on a song, who will it be?" Lerny Lomotey asked.
"The list goes on and on I cannot give you my top
three. I am not being political. I am a
music enthusiast I love music and I won't lie to you. I am heavy on Nigerian
music. Right now, most of them are my friends just like most of Ghanaian
musicians are also my friends. Oxlade, Wiz, Ladipoe and Rema…I am heavy on
Nigerian music," he stressed.
