Nigerian music stars Ayra Starr and Wizkid have teamed up once again to deliver the infectious new single GIMME DAT, released on April 25th, 2025. This marks their second collaboration, following the 2022 hit 2 Sugar.

Produced by vybeO and Mikababeatz, GIMME DAT blends sultry Afrobeat rhythms with a nostalgic twist, sampling Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige’s classic 911 and Wyclef’s Diallo. The track showcases Ayra Starr’s smooth vocals and Wizkid’s signature laid-back charm, creating a romantic and danceable tune perfect for the summer.

Lyrically, the song explores themes of love, emotional security, and desire. Ayra Starr expresses a yearning for genuine connection, singing, “Gimme that love, gimme peace of mind,” while Wizkid responds with declarations of devotion, emphasizing the transformative power of love.

GIMME DAT has quickly resonated with fans, debuting at number one on Nigeria’s Spotify chart and gaining traction across streaming platforms.  The accompanying music video, directed by Meji Alabi, features vibrant visuals of sun-drenched parties and high-energy dance routines, encapsulating the essence of summer.

This release follows Ayra Starr’s 2024 sophomore album The Year I Turned 21 and her recent accolade as the first African woman to win Best International Act at the MOBO Awards.  She is also set to support Coldplay on select dates of their North American tour this July.
