Ghanaian singer, rapper and fashion model Black Sherif has achieved a historic milestone as his second studio album, IRON BOY, which has crossed 100 million streams on Audiomack. This feat makes him the only Ghanaian artiste with two albums surpassing this mark on the platform, following his 2022 debut THE VILLAIN I NEVER WAS, which has amassed 519 million streams.

Posts from fans celebrated the achievement, noting IRON BOY’s record-breaking 1.7 million streams on its first full day, the biggest opening for a Ghanaian album on Audiomack. The album, featuring Nigerian artistes Fireboy DML and Seyi Vibez, blends hip-hop, Afrobeats, and Highlife, exploring themes of strength and vulnerability.

IRON BOY’s 15 tracks, including lead single SO IT GOES with Fireboy DML and standout ONE, showcased on A COLORS SHOW, have resonated globally, with the album peaking at No. 10 on Billboard’s US World Albums and No. 5 on Nigeria’s Top 100 Albums. Its critical acclaim, praised by fans and fellow artistes stems from Sherif’s raw storytelling, produced by Joker Nharnah and Lekaa Beats.

The album’s success follows Sherif’s 2022 Audiomack milestone of 100 million streams across his discography, driven by hits like KWAKU THE TRAVELLER (35 million streams). His North American and European tours in April 2025 further amplified IRON BOY’s reach.

IRON BOY (106 million streams) overtook Olive The Boy’s Avana EP (105 million) as the second-most streamed Ghanaian project on Audiomack, sparking debates about streaming competition. Sherif’s unique fusion of drill, Afrobeats, and soul, coupled with introspective lyrics about his journey from Konongo, continues to captivate a global audience.

His 2023 milestone of 1 billion streams across platforms and recognition as Audiomack’s #UpNow artiste in 2022 underscore his meteoric rise. As the first Ghanaian to hit 100 million streams on Boomplay, Sherif’s IRON BOY cements his trailblazing status in African music.
