Darkua Says ITS NEVER TOO LATE on Latest EP
Darkua
Ghanaian AfroSoul and RnB queen Darkua has unleashed her debut EP, NEVER TOO LATE, and it’s a six-track masterpiece dripping with soul, swagger, and raw emotion. With her velvety vocals and knack for blending genres like a musical alchemist, Darkua invites us into her world of love, heartbreak, and self-reinvention—and trust us, you’ll want to RSVP.
This EP is like a diary set to music, with each track peeling back layers of Darkua’s heart. TakeLOVE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING, a swoon-worthy anthem that’ll have you floating on romance’s fluffy clouds, or ON MY WAY, where longing meets a sax solo from Mizter Okyere so smooth it could charm a cobra. Then there’s TORI, a Hip-hop-infused storytelling gem that proves Darkua’s got bars and soul in equal measure, and HER, a groovy, soul-stirring bop stacked with instrumentation that hits all the right spots. Rounding out the lineup are CONFESSION and MIIYA, where haunting melodies and gut-punching emotion cement Darkua as your new favorite storyteller.
NEVER TOO LATE is a vibe, a mood, and a full-on experience. With lush production, lyrics that cut deep, and a fusion of AfroSoul and RnB flavors, Darkua’s proving she’s not just Ghana’s next big thing—she’s already here. “This EP is my journey,” she says. “Falling in love, getting my heart smashed, and picking up the pieces to find myself again. I poured my soul into every track, and I hope it hits home for everyone who presses play.”
Behind the scenes, Darkua teamed up with a dream squad of producers and engineers to bring this magic to life. CTEA cooked up the beats for LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL THING,ON MY WAY, and TORI, while King Ketelby James and Gabiga sprinkled their sauce on HER, Insane Auggie added his flair to CONFESSION and MIIYA, and the mixing wizards—CTEA for the first three tracks and Fortune Dane for the rest—polished it all to sonic perfection.
Born Naa Darkua Chinonye Wristberg to Ghanaian-Nigerian roots, Darkua’s sound is a spicy stew of her heritage, stirred with influences from legends like A.B. Crentsil, Lagbaja, and Weird MC. With over 1.5 million streams already under her belt, plus a nod for Emerging Woman of the Year at the 2022 3 Music Awards and a 2023 Apple Music #UpNext spotlight, she’s not just climbing the ladder—she’s building her own throne.
So, grab your headphones and dive into NEVER TOO LATE. Whether you’re in your feelings or just need a beat to groove to, Darkua’s got you covered. This is more than music—it’s a front-row seat to a star on the rise.
