Disney is advancing with The Princess Diaries 3, with the production team recently scouting castles in the Czech Republic as potential filming locations. This move suggests a new visual setting for the fictional kingdom of Genovia, previously represented by Longford Castle in England.




Anne Hathaway, who portrayed Mia Thermopolis in the original films, confirmed her return to the role in October 2024. The upcoming sequel will be directed by Adele Lim, known for co-writing Crazy Rich Asians.

While Julie Andrews, who played Queen Clarisse Renaldi, is unlikely to return due to her retirement from acting, and Chris Pine, who portrayed Mia’s love interest, has not confirmed his involvement, the film is set to continue the beloved romantic-comedy franchise.

No official release date has been announced yet, but the project is generating excitement among fans eager to revisit the enchanting world of Genovia.
