Ghana’s creative scene thrives on stories of passion,
purpose and perseverance and today’s episode of The Big Conversation captures
exactly that spirit. Two of the nation’s most dynamic forces, Dr. Likee(Ras
Nene) and Opoku Bilson, join the Culture Squad on Culture Daily for a
laughter-filled, truth-telling conversation that celebrates their journey,
their craft, and their latest project, TOOLI JUNCTION (OOBAKE VRS AKWAABA).
TOOLI JUNCTION (OOBAKE VRS AKWAABA) is a comedy show
happening at the national theatre today at 7pm. Featuring familiar faces like
Jeffery Nortey, Lawyer Nti, and other surprise acts, the show aims to entertain
while staying rooted in the culture that inspires it.
From the very start, the interview bursts with energy,
laughter, nostalgia and honesty.
Dr. Likee, known for his unmistakable street-style
comedy, reflects on his humble beginnings and the hard work that fuels his
rise. He speaks openly about mentoring the next generation, noting that age and
experience come with a duty to guide others.
Together, Dr. Likee and Opoku Bilson use humor as a
bridge to connect people, spark conversation and showcase the everyday
realities of Ghanaian life.
Dr. Likee acknowledges some industry people who have
supported him over the years.
“God bless Asamoah Gyan wherever he is, he literally
gave me dollars to buy my first camera”
He goes on to appreciate Sarkodie, Shatta Wale,
Medikal and many other unnamed figures who have supported him and his team
along the way.
Ghana’s comedy landscape continues to evolve. Through
digital platforms like YouTube, Dr. Likee, Opoku Bilson and their team of
talented people are creatively and authentically reshaping how Ghanaian stories
are told.
