Fireboy's PERU Earns RIAA Platinum Certificate

For selling more than 1 million records in the United States of America, Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Fireboy DML's PERU has received the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Platinum certification.


An image of Fireboy DML and the RIAA certificate was tweeted by Unorthodox Reviews along with a caption.


PERU which was released in 2021 had a second surge in popularity when a remix was created with UK musician Ed Sheeran. The song's original version received the RIAA Gold certification in 2022, making it a hit and honouring the singer while also confirming PERU as a success.
