Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has congratulated Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta on winning the Premier League.

This follows Manchester City's  1-1 draw at Bournemouth, which ended the club's hopes of retaining the title.

“On behalf of Man City and my team, congratulations to Arsenal, Mikel, all the staff, all the players and the fans. They deserve it,” Guardiola said after the match.

The title is Arsenal’s first Premier League triumph in 22 years and comes after successive second-place finishes behind Manchester City in recent seasons.

Guardiola also addressed growing speculation surrounding his future at City but declined to confirm reports suggesting he could step down at the end of the season.

The Spaniard said discussions over his future would take place after the campaign ends and only after speaking with club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

“The first person I have to talk to is my chairman because we decided when the season finishes, we will sit and talk. After that we will take the decision,” Guardiola said.

Reports in British media indicate Guardiola is expected to hold talks with City’s hierarchy in the coming days amid uncertainty over whether he will continue beyond this season.

Guardiola has been in charge of Manchester City since 2016 and has led the club to multiple trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
