Rapper Joey B has paid tribute to several key figures he says played decisive roles in launching his music career, including fellow musicians Lil Shaker and Tiffany.

Joey B disclosed this on Culture Daily on 3Music TV and Pluzz 89.9 FM, where he described Lil Shaker as one of the most important people in his journey into music.

“I owe it all to God, of course, Lil Shaker,” he said.

The rapper recounted meeting Lil Shaker while attending Accra High School after repeating Class Six, a development he said initially felt embarrassing but ultimately changed the course of his life.

According to him, a friend introduced him to Shaker, who was surrounded by students during a break period. After hearing a brief freestyle, Shaker took his number and the two began working together.

“If I continued with my friends, I know for a fact I would have missed the Shaker connection,” Joey B said.

He also credited Tiffany with helping expose his music to a wider audience at a crucial stage of his career.

The rapper revealed that a promotional CD containing his song Strawberry Ginger eventually reached Tiffany through a mutual contact.

After listening to the track while travelling for a performance, she reportedly asked her team to locate him.

“Tiffany really put me on,” Joey B said.

He explained that Tiffany later introduced his music to influential industry figures, including radio personalities and promoters, helping increase his visibility.

Joey B also recalled receiving encouragement from the late musician Castro during one of their first meetings.

According to him, Castro predicted he would achieve major success within a few years.

The rapper said the contributions of Shaker, Tiffany and several others remain important chapters in his career, adding that he continues to value the relationships that helped shape his rise in Ghana’s music industry.
