Fast-rising Ghanaian artiste, Kojo Blak, is steadily carving his place in the music scene and during a recent appearance on The Big Conversation on Culture Daily, he opened up about his unique journey, new music and the wave of support pushing his craft forward.
Kojo Blak revealed that his musical story began back in senior high school, where he was popularly known as TB, short for ToyBoy. Long before the fame, he was already rapping, a talent his friends believed in deeply.
“I was encouraged by my boys to go to the studio after class and I’ve been going to the studio ever since,” he shared, reflecting on the early days that shaped his artistic drive.
Today, Kojo Blak is preparing for one of the biggest moments in his career, the release of his first-ever album, a milestone he describes with pure excitement. “My first ever album is coming and I am gassed!” he announced.
Beyond Ghana, his sound is resonating in powerful ways. He revealed he has gained massive support from Nigeria, noting that he even has Nigerians singing in Ga, a testament to the cultural crossover his music is achieving.
In the industry, Kojo Blak is also receiving guidance from some of Ghana’s biggest names. He shared that Shatta Wale personally calls, checks up on him and offers advice, largely because they both are from the Ga tribe. The support, he says, has been both surprising and motivating.
On Culture Daily, the conversation also touched on new music, including his work around the track BALANCE with Lasmid, as he continues to broaden his reach and refine his sound.
Kojo Blak’s rise is a blend of authenticity, community support, and a relentless passion for music and with his debut album on the way, the journey is only just beginning.
