Kuami Eugene Laments On Not Being Recognized Enough For Songwriting

Songwriter and singer Kuami Eugene has expressed disappointment in the lack of recognition for his songwriting abilities in award schemes.

The Rockstar was speaking in a recent interview when he voiced his displeasure with how many hit songs he has written but that do not get the necessary recognition they deserve. 

The Angela hitmaker mentioned songs such as Victory sung by Joyce Blessing, Nyame ye by Piesie Esther and Watch me by Empress Gifty as big hits he has written but went without notice in awards.

According to him, he is verbally praised for his writing abilities but never awarded. 

"Trust me, I'm hurt. It's something that hurts me so much. They don't seem to recognize my songwriting abilities. They enjoy the songs and say Kuami Eugene wrote this song, he's good but they don't give me the award for it," he lamented. 

He also mentioned that award schemes usually look out for the messages in the songs and not their popularity when awarding songwriting abilities.

"Most of the songs I've written are big bangers and they see big bangers as fleeting music. So maybe I will start writing songs that are calm because I have the abilities," he added.
