Lagos State Government Declares Public Holiday for Isese Day Celebration
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially declared Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, a public holiday to mark the Isese Day celebration.
Isese, which translates to "tradition" in Yoruba, is a significant cultural event deeply rooted in Yoruba heritage, with millions of followers across the region. The holiday is a recognition of the importance of preserving and promoting Yoruba traditions and cultural practices.
All public servants in Lagos State are expected to observe the holiday and resume work on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Governor Sanwo-Olu's declaration is a testament to the state government's commitment to promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity. The Isese Day celebration is expected to be marked with various cultural events and activities across the state, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
