Madame Joyce Questions Why “Straight Masculine Men” Are in the DJ Booth
Madame Joyce
Podcaster and media personality Madame Joyce has sparked conversation online after making a bold and humorous statement about men in DJ booths. Speaking on her popular podcast, Cocktails and Takeaways, Madame Joyce questioned why straight masculine men feel the need to occupy the DJ booths during events.

“I don’t feel like men should be allowed in the DJ booth, If you are a straight masculine man, what are you doing in the DJ booth?” she asked.

The episode featured UK artiste and DJ Skyla Tylaa and the two dove into the fast-approaching festive season, known across Africa as Detty December a period filled with back-to-back parties, concerts and nightlife experiences.

Their conversation, packed with humour and sharp social commentary, explored club culture, party etiquette and the evolving dynamics of nightlife spaces. Joyce’s statement, while playful, tapped into a broader conversation about who truly belongs in the DJ booth

Skyla Tylaa, who has graced stages across the UK and beyond, laughed along with the remark but also highlighted how the DJ booth can often become overcrowded, especially during high-energy December events.

As Detty December approaches, the clip has quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans sharing mixed reactions some agreeing wholeheartedly, others simply enjoying the banter.

Whether taken as satire or social critique, Madame Joyce’s comment has certainly added spice to the end-of-year party discourse.
