Super-producer Metro Boomin is heating up the summer with the surprise announcement of a new mixtape titled A Futuristic Summa. The St. Louis-born hitmaker first teased the project on July 4th via social media, sharing a snippet that quickly sent fans into a frenzy.

While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed, the tape is expected to drop sometime in July, with a cryptic caption suggesting “7/??/25 PD02” as a placeholder. Adding to the anticipation, a billboard spotted online has confirmed both the title and the vibe, fueling speculation that the project will be a blend of futuristic sounds and summer-ready anthems.

According to early reports, A Futuristic Summa will feature 20 tracks and be hosted by DJ Spinz, a legendary figure in the trap and mixtape scene. This collaboration signals a return to the classic mixtape format while embracing a forward-looking sonic direction.

Metro Boomin, known for producing some of the biggest hip-hop hits of the last decade, including work with Future, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage, hasn’t released a solo project since Heroes & Villains in 2022. This upcoming tape could mark a new chapter in his musical evolution, combining nostalgic mixtape culture with his futuristic production style.

More details, including features and an official tracklist, are expected to drop soon. Fans should keep an eye out—Metro Season might just redefine the sound of summer 2025.
