Rising Ghanaian artiste, AlorG, is steadily carving a name for himself in the music industry, blending raw talent, faith and a growing catalogue of standout records. On the BIG CONVO, the young musician opened up about his journey, creative influences and defining career moments including his breakthrough performance at Rapperholic.
AlorG revealed that his stage name is derived from his real name, Alodea Gyamfi. Interestingly, the name came to him subconsciously before he fully connected it to his identity.
One of the most pivotal points in his career came when he performed at Rapperholic, headlined by Sarkodie. The moment was more than just a performance; it was validation.
AlorG described the experience as surreal, recalling how the crowd’s reaction made him realise the impact of his music. For him, sharing the stage with Sarkodie was not only an honour but also a sign that he was on the right path.
Their collaboration came together organically after Sarkodie publicly endorsed him in an interview, a moment that left AlorG emotional and grateful. Shortly after, Sarkodie’s manager reached out, and the rest quickly fell into place.
AlorG’s journey into music began in an unlikely place, a classroom. With no prior experience, he found himself experimenting with melodies and writing lyrics during a moment of spontaneity. That discovery sparked what would become a full-fledged passion.
By senior high school, he had already built a reputation, with peers singing along to his songs and inviting him to perform at other schools. His early exposure to different genres from gospel in church to Afrobeats and drill, helped shape his versatile sound.
His latest single, TOMORROW, is already gaining traction. According to AlorG, the song was born from a deeply emotional place, reflecting his mindset at the time of writing.
He explained that he often allows himself time to fully connect with a beat before recording, ensuring that the final product carries authenticity. The result is a track that resonates with listeners through both its sound and message.
Beyond talent, AlorG credits his journey to faith. He strongly believes his success is not luck but divine alignment, emphasising that his story is meant to inspire others.
“I want people to look at me and see that God is real,” he shared.
This perspective has shaped not only his music but also his approach to life and career decisions.
