Ghanaian comedian, OB Amponsah, is set to bring laughter to the stage once again with his annual comedy special, with this year's edition titled GREETINGS FROM ABROAD, scheduled for December 20th at the Bukom Boxing Arena. Known for blending sharp wit with relatable storytelling, OB promises a show filled with humour, nostalgia and insights drawn from his international experiences.
Speaking on Culture Daily, OB shared that the special is inspired by his travels and observations while living abroad. “After spending time in the United States, seeing life among Ghanaians and Black Americans, I realised there’s a lot I can share with audiences back home,” he said. The title also pays homage to the classic Ghanaian TV show GREETINGS FROM ABROAD, evoking a sense of connection with the diaspora.
OB described his show as a carefully crafted experience rather than a traditional stand-up performance. “Performing to a crowd of 4,000 people, all around you, is an amazing feeling,” he explained. “We aim to give Ghanaians a true arena comedy experience, one that’s immersive, interactive and memorable.”

This year’s special marks his 11th edition. In previous years, OB has tackled sensitive topics with humour, sometimes sparking conversation.
OB’s special is designed for everyone. Ghanaians home and abroad and diasporans visiting Ghana. With his trademarked fearless and honest approach to comedy, OB continues to push boundaries and set new standards for live comedy performances in Ghana.
