Veteran voice actor Peter Renaday, best known for his iconic role as Master Splinter in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series, has passed away at the age of 89. Renaday's death was announced by his friend and co-star Townsend Coleman, who voiced Michelangelo in the series, on social media. Coleman remembered Renaday as a "Disney Legend" and "one of the most genuine, salt-of-the-earth people" he had ever known.

Renaday had a remarkable career spanning over six decades, with nearly 200 film and TV credits to his name. He voiced characters in several Disney animated films, including The Aristocrats, The Rescuers, and The Black Cauldron. His TV credits include Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, Alvin & The Chipmunks, The Transformers, The Real Ghostbusters, and Batman: The Animated Series. He also famously voiced the animatronic Abraham Lincoln at Walt Disney World's Hall of Presidents.

Fans and colleagues are paying tribute to Renaday on social media, with one fan writing, "I will always remember you for bringing Splinter to life." Renaday is survived by his legacy and the countless lives he touched through his work. He was married to Florence "Flo" Daniel, a former Walt Disney Studios music department secretary, from 1979 until her passing in 2011.
