American-Jamaican singer and songwriter Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years in federal prison after being convicted of wire fraud, according to U.S. federal authorities.

Kingston, best known for his 2007 hit BEAUTIFUL GIRLS and collaborations with artists such as Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, was found guilty of orchestrating a scheme that involved fraudulent financial transactions. Court documents reveal that Kingston engaged in wire fraud activities that resulted in significant financial losses for victims.

The sentencing marks a dramatic turn in the career of the 34-year-old artist, who rose to international fame in the late 2000s. While Kingston has faced legal and financial troubles in the past, this conviction represents his most serious legal setback to date.

In addition to his prison sentence, Kingston will be required to serve a period of supervised release and pay restitution to victims of the scheme.

Federal prosecutors stated that the case serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, regardless of celebrity status.

Neither Kingston nor his legal team has issued a public statement following the sentencing. Sean Kingston Sentenced to 3.5 Years in Federal Prison for Wire Fraud
