Faith Sobe Cyril, a recent alumnus of Academic City University College in Ghana, has reached an impressive milestone in his career by securing a prestigious Software Engineering role at Apple in London, United Kingdom. This significant accomplishment marks yet another chapter of success for Cyril, who has consistently showcased his academic prowess and determination.
Graduating with first-class honors from Academic City University College, Cyril’s journey to excellence was evident long before his latest achievement. His outstanding academic record was complemented by active participation in extracurricular activities, distinguishing him as a well-rounded and high-achieving student. His reputation as a top performer was further amplified during his time at Legon Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, where he clinched the title of overall best student in the renowned Ghanaian Sharks Quiz competition.
Cyril's remarkable academic journey has now propelled him into Apple’s highly competitive Evolve programme—a coveted two-year rotational scheme that offers participants an immersive experience across various departments within the tech giant. According to a report by Business Ghana, Cyril will have the opportunity to collaborate with three distinct teams, working on innovative projects that span the cutting edge of technology. This program is designed to provide young engineers with hands-on exposure and valuable insights into different facets of Apple’s operations, setting them up for future leadership roles within the company.
Reflecting on his latest achievement, Cyril expressed his excitement about joining one of the world’s leading technology firms. "Being part of Apple is a dream come true," he shared. "I’m eager to learn from some of the brightest minds in the industry and contribute to innovations that have a meaningful impact on people's lives globally."
Cyril also detailed the challenging selection process that he underwent to secure this role. "The application process was intense," he explained. "It started with a written essay, followed by a technical interview, and culminated in three consecutive panel interviews—two focused on technical skills and one on behavioral aspects. The final interview was particularly crucial in securing the offer."
As he embarks on this new chapter, Cyril credits his education at Academic City University College for equipping him with the skills needed to excel in such a demanding environment. "My experience at Academic City taught me how to balance rigorous academic work with extracurricular activities, which has been invaluable in preparing me for the challenges of the Evolve programme," he remarked.
Looking ahead, Cyril is enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead at Apple. "Apple’s dynamic and challenging environment, coupled with its culture of innovation, provides the ideal platform for me to develop the skills I need to achieve my long-term career goals," he added.
Faith Sobe Cyril's journey from Academic City University College to Apple serves as a powerful source of inspiration for aspiring students across Ghana. His story underscores the importance of hard work, dedication, and academic excellence in achieving global success highlighting the limitless possibilities of what can be achieved with determination and perseverance, offering hope and motivation to young minds striving to reach their full potential on the world stage.
