The iconic R&B trio TLC—Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes—will have their groundbreaking journey brought to life in a new stage production titled CrazySexyCool – The TLC Musical. Set to premiere at Arena Stage’s Kreeger Theater in Washington, D.C., the musical will run from June 12 to August 9, 2026, as part of the theater’s 75th anniversary season.

Written and directed by British playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah, with choreography by Chloe O. Davis, the production promises to delve beyond the headlines, exploring the group’s resilience, sisterhood, and enduring impact on music and culture.

The musical will feature performances of TLC’s greatest hits, including “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Unpretty,” offering audiences a nostalgic yet profound experience.

T-Boz expressed her excitement, stating, “Bringing this story to the stage is a dream come true. We’ve performed worldwide, but bringing our story and music to the theater is a totally new and exciting challenge.” Chilli added, “Audiences will get to hear our story—mostly fact with a sprinkle of fiction—told in our own way, and of course it’s set to all your favorite hits!”

Produced by Diggit Theatrical Group with executive producer Stephen Gabriel, CrazySexyCool aims to capture the essence of TLC’s journey, from their meteoric rise and chart-topping success to the challenges they faced, including financial struggles and the tragic loss of Left Eye in 2002.

While there is anticipation for the musical to eventually make its way to Broadway, no official timeline has been announced. Casting details are also yet to be revealed.

Tickets for the Arena Stage production are expected to go on sale in the coming months. Fans and theater enthusiasts alike are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on this highly anticipated musical event.
