Afrobeats titans, Wizkid and Asake, have officially released their highly anticipated collaborative EP REAL, Vol. 1. A four-track project that unites two of Nigeria’s most influential artistes in one powerful musical statement. The EP dropped on January 23, 2026 and includes the focus track TURBULENCE.
REAL, Vol. 1 brings together lush Afro-fusion production, rhythmic storytelling and dynamic performances rooted in both artistes’ signature styles. Produced by Magicsticks, lol and 4Tunes, the project features four songs: TURBULENCE, JOGOLO, ISKOLODO and ALAYE.
A key highlight from the EP is TURBULENCE. A song that blends smooth grooves with Afrobeat energy, showcasing Wizkid’s seasoned melodies alongside Asake’s vibrant delivery. The track is accompanied by a music video that arrived with the EP, underlining both artistes’ commanding presence and charisma.
Critics and fans alike have responded enthusiastically to the release, celebrating the track’s vibe and the chemistry between the duo. The visuals reinforce the song’s themes, using dynamic imagery and stylish performances to elevate the listening experience.
This project marks the first full EP collaboration between Wizkid and Asake. A meeting of two distinct waves of Afrobeats talent. Wizkid’s global influence, built over years of hit releases and chart-topping success, meets Asake’s high-energy rise, resulting in a cohesive body of work that reflects both cultural roots and contemporary sound.
The EP rollout began with the release of JOGODO ahead of the full project. That single broke records on streaming platforms smashing Spotify Nigeria’s all-time streaming numbers and setting high expectations for the EP’s arrival.
As the Afrobeats genre continues its global expansion and collaborations like this, combining veteran influence with rising firepower, further cement Nigeria’s position at the forefront of the international music landscape.
