Ghanaian digital strategist and fintech leader Aba Mariam, also known as Mariam Kaleem Agyeman-Buahin, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of The Akuna Group, a company founded by Idris Elba to drive growth across Africa and the Middle East. The Akuna Group focuses on sectors including Creative Industries, Agriculture, and Infrastructure, aiming to empower Africa’s growth through innovation and impact.

Mariam brings a wealth of experience in digital banking, marketing, and brand strategy, having made significant contributions to Ghana’s digital economy. She was recently a panelist at the Blacvolta Creator Mix, where she shared insights on business strategy within the creator economy.

With Mariam’s appointment, The Akuna Group aims to further its mission of building Africa’s future through innovation and impact.
