Adesope Drags Nigerians For Overreacting To Grammy Results

In the aftermath of the 2026 Grammy Awards, Nigerian Afrobeats promoter Adesope has taken to Instagram to address what he describes as the entitlement culture among some Nigerians online.

In his post, Adesope reflected on the intense social media reactions to Nigerian artistes missing out on wins at the Grammys, stating:

“I’m watching myself and every Nigerian online since yesterday and laughing my behind off. We are such sore losers… being Nigerian sometimes reeks of entitlement wtf. It’s like we feel we are the only ones putting in work, have talent, praying & have links… omoooo ge… we lost, now clap for the winners & face our front.”

The post comes amid growing debate within the Nigerian music community, where fans often express frustration when international recognition seems to elude homegrown talent. Adesope’s message appears aimed at urging fans to celebrate the achievements of fellow artistes globally rather than dwell on disappointment.

He concluded his post with the hashtag #NeverAgain, signaling his call for a shift in perspective toward sportsmanship and collective pride.

Adesope’s remarks have sparked conversation on social media, with many agreeing that while Nigerian talent continues to shine on the global stage, the fanbase’s reactions sometimes overshadow the accomplishments themselves.

As Afrobeats continues to dominate charts worldwide, voices like Adesope’s remind fans that supporting the industry also means celebrating the successes of others, even in moments of personal or national disappointment.
