Cardi B, the Grammy-winning rapper, will receive the prestigious ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award at an exclusive ceremony in Los Angeles on June 8, 2025. The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) recognizes her for her profound influence on music and culture, particularly in reshaping hip-hop by challenging norms for women. 

This accolade places her among elite company, following previous recipients like Usher, and highlights her role as a trailblazer with over 30 ASCAP awards, including being the first woman to win ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year consecutively in 2020 and 2021.

Her impact extends beyond chart-topping hits like BODAK YELLOW and I LIKE IT with ASCAP Chairman Paul Williams praising her “unapologetic authenticity and talent” for breaking barriers and inspiring others. Cardi B’s influence is evident in her advocacy for social change and her ability to connect with audiences through her bold persona and music. 

The award ceremony, celebrating top hip-hop, R&B, and gospel songwriters, underscores her legacy as a cultural change-maker while she continues to work on her highly anticipated second album, expected in 2025.
