Ghanaian music duo DopeNation has announced plans to support families affected by the recent floods in parts of Accra by donating part of the proceeds from their ongoing Kakalika Europe Tour.
In a statement shared on social media on Wednesday, the duo said they intended to give GH¢1,000 each to several flood victims in affected communities.
“We intend to give 1000 cedis each to a number of victims, families affected in some parts of Accra from our Europe tour proceeds,” the statement said.
The musicians acknowledged that the donation would not reverse the devastation caused by the floods but said they hoped it would ease the burden on affected families.

“This won’t solve the problem neither will it bring back the lives and property but will at least ease some tension amongst us,” they wrote.
The message also expressed sympathy for those who lost relatives and property during the disaster.
“The floods in our homes resulting to the losses of life and valuable property isn’t just here to break us but to remind us of how strong we should be as one people with love,” the statement added.
The pledge comes after severe flooding hit parts of the Greater Accra Region following heavy rains earlier this week, leaving several people dead, displacing residents and destroying homes, vehicles and businesses.
Emergency responders, government agencies and volunteer groups have been providing rescue operations and relief assistance to affected communities.
The announcement comes while the twin brothers are on their Kakalika Europe Tour, which began in late May and includes performances across several European cities.
The tour follows the international success of their hit song, which has gained significant popularity both in Ghana and abroad.
