The BET HipHop Awards wasted no time in acknowledging the spread and impact of the HipHop culture across the globe with the 2023 cyphers. In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the genre, the cyphers were done a bit differently with representations from different rappers from different cultures, countries and continents.

Amongst the Emcees that represented for Africa were Botswana’s Veezo View, Nigeria’s PsychoYP Drizilik from Sierra Leone and Cameroonian duo Askia, Phido and Ghana's Ko-Jo Cue and BryanTheMensah each bringing their unique style and flow to the cypher. Ko-Jo Cue and BryanTheMensah, two of Ghana's best lyricists wasted no time in showing boundless ability in a display of lyrical brilliance and mastery and understanding of the craft and culture.
The two expertly represented Ghana at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards International Cypher (Africa), which featured an electrifying showcase of African rap ability in the highly anticipated cypher, which is an integral part of the BET Hip Hop Awards. They stood out amongst the rappers that represented setting the stage for an unforgettable night of rhyme and rhythm, and they did not disappoint.
The International Cypher (Africa) was a celebration of the diversity and talent that the African rap scene has to offer. Each artiste brought their distinct flavour and energy to the stage, showcasing the vibrant and evolving hip-hop culture across the continent.
