Rapper and Young Money president Mack Maine, born Jermaine Anthony Preyan, is grieving the sudden death of his 20-year-old son, Isaiah "Zeke" Preyan, who passed away on July 16, 2025, following a seizure at his home in California. In an emotional Instagram post on July 28, which coincided with his birthday and the two-year anniversary of his father’s passing, Maine shared his heartbreak, writing, “I’m still in shock and still processing the fact that he’s gone. Still confused, still questioning life and why my child and not me.” The post, accompanied by cherished family photos, highlighted Zeke’s profound impact as a source of inspiration and joy, with Maine calling him his “SONshine” whose smile brightened his darkest days.

The hip-hop community has rallied around Maine, with artists like Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, and Tyga offering heartfelt condolences. Minaj wrote, “We are praying for your whole family, Mack. We love you so much.” Maine reflected on Zeke’s pure heart and shared memories of their bond, from childhood moments to Zeke’s aspirations as an LSU-bound student. Urging fans to cherish their loved ones, he wrote, “Hug the ones you love and squeeze em tight.” Maine found solace in believing Zeke is reunited with his grandfather and grandmother, vowing to honor their memory while seeking strength to navigate this unimaginable loss.
