Netflix has officially commenced construction on a $900 million state-of-the-art production facility at the former Fort Monmouth Army base in central New Jersey. The project, known as Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth, marks a significant expansion of the streaming giant’s production capabilities on the East Coast.

Spanning 292 acres across Eatontown and Oceanport, the studio campus will feature 12 soundstages ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 square feet, backlot areas, post-production suites, and office spaces. The development is expected to create over 3,500 construction jobs and more than 1,500 permanent production jobs upon completion, projected for 2028.
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has approved $387 million in Aspire tax credits to support the project. These incentives offer up to 35% for production expenses and up to 40% for digital post-production, making New Jersey an attractive location for film and television production.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized the strategic importance of the location, stating, “We believe a Netflix studio can boost the local and state economy with thousands of new jobs and billions in economic output, while sparking a vibrant production ecosystem in New Jersey.”
