Nigerian rap icon Olamide has officially released his much-anticipated single KAI, a dynamic collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Wizkid. Serving as the lead single from Olamide’s forthcoming self-titled 11th studio album, Olamidé, the track is now available across major streaming platforms.

KAI marks a significant reunion between Olamide and Wizkid, rekindling the creative synergy they first showcased on their 2011 hit Omo To Shan. This latest offering blends Olamide’s gritty street rap with Wizkid’s smooth melodic vocals, creating a vibrant soundscape that reflects their individual artistry and mutual respect. Adding depth to the track are background vocals from Fireboy DML and Joeboy, whose contributions enrich the song’s layered harmonies. 

The single sets the stage for Olamidé, Olamide’s 11th studio album and 15th overall project, scheduled for release on June 3rd, 2025. With 17 tracks, this album is poised to be his most extensive since 2017’s Lagos Nawa. Fans can expect a blend of introspective lyrics and energetic beats, showcasing Olamide’s evolution as an artiste.

Olamide’s prolific career has solidified his status as a cornerstone of Nigerian hip-hop. Since his debut with Rapsodi in 2011, he has consistently delivered hits that resonate with a broad audience. His influence extends beyond his music; as the founder of YBNL Nation, he has been instrumental in launching the careers of artists like Fireboy DML, further shaping the Afrobeats landscape.

The release of KAI has generated significant buzz on social media, with fans and critics praising the collaboration’s seamless fusion of styles. As anticipation builds for the full album, Olamidé is expected to be a landmark release, reflecting Olamide’s enduring impact on the music industry.
