Ghanaian DJ and producer DJ Shagy has secured an international milestone after his song, Bounce, was selected for the official soundtrack of FIFA Heroes, making it the only African song featured on the game’s soundtrack.
The track, which was created entirely by a Ghanaian team, features Afro-EDM artiste KVPEL and was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer C-tea, with vocal engineering and finishing by Redemption Beatz.
The song joins an international line-up that includes artistes such as Central Cee and J Balvin on the soundtrack of the newly launched football game.
According to a statement released on Thursday, the selection places Ghana at the centre of one of the year’s major intersections between music and gaming and introduces global audiences to a wholly Ghanaian creative collaboration.
The statement said the record’s “energy, rhythm and atmosphere” resonated with the FIFA Heroes selection panel, earning it a place on the official soundtrack.
For Ghana’s music industry, the achievement represents another sign of the growing global recognition of the country’s electronic and dance music scene.
Soundtrack placements in FIFA gaming titles have historically helped artistes reach audiences in more than 200 countries and territories.
The recognition comes during a successful period for DJ Shagy, who was recently named House Music DJ of the Year at the Ghana DJ Awards.
He was also selected among the Top 10 talents in the Pete Tong DJ Academy Future Talent Awards.
Beyond his work as a DJ and producer, Shagy has been actively promoting African electronic music through performances, cultural programmes and his dance music platform, Baptism.
The track also marks a significant achievement for KVPEL, who has been building a reputation in Afro-house and Afro-EDM, and for C-tea, whose production work includes collaborations with internationally acclaimed South African DJ and producer Black Coffee.
The creators behind Bounce say the track is the product of Accra’s growing dance music ecosystem, combining Afro-house, Afro-EDM and world-class production craftsmanship.
FIFA Heroes, the newest title in the FIFA gaming franchise, launched on June 25 and is designed as a fast-paced, arcade-style football experience for a global audience.
For now, Bounce can only be heard within the game and will remain exclusive to FIFA Heroes until its official release on streaming platforms in August 2026 through Discovr Radio.
The inclusion of the song on the game’s soundtrack marks another moment of international exposure for Ghanaian creative talent and places the country’s electronic music scene on one of gaming’s newest global stages.
