How Rie Osei And Marince Omario Turned ADWUMA WURA From A Love Song Into An Anthem About Ambition

Ghanaian artistes Rie Osei and Marince Omario have revealed that their collaboration Adwuma Wura was initially heading in a different direction before they decided to shift the focus of the song to ambition, hard work and financial goals.

Speaking on the Big Convo segment of the Culture Daily morning show on 3Music TV and Pluzz 89.9FM, the artistes explained that the creative process involved changing the original concept to reflect a message they felt connected more with their realities.

Marince Omario said the team initially considered creating a romantic song but decided to explore a different theme.

“I was like, no, let’s change the topic today. Let’s talk about money,” he recalled.

According to him, the final song became a reflection of the need for people to work hard, invest in themselves, and pursue financial independence.

He said the message of Adwuma Wura is about chasing success and understanding that achieving one’s goals requires commitment.

Rie Osei said the collaboration allowed each artiste to bring their own experiences and perspective to the record.

She explained that her approach to music is rooted in personal expression, with her lyrics often reflecting emotions and experiences rather than simply creating words for entertainment.

“If you listen to my music, if you listen to Marince’s music, you know that we actually put our soul into the track,” she said.

The artistes said the process was smooth because each person understood their creative role and allowed the others to contribute their strengths.

Marince credited the executive producer for bringing the artistes together, saying he believed their different styles could work well on the same record.

The song forms part of the work of the High Life Collective, an initiative focused on supporting Ghanaian artistes and highlighting elements of Ghanaian music within contemporary sounds.
