Actors KJ Smith and Skyh Black have announced they are expecting their first child together. The couple shared the joyful news in an exclusive interview with Essence, revealing that Smith is five months pregnant.

KJ Smith, known for her role in Sistas, candidly discussed her initial hesitance towards motherhood due to her career focus and health challenges, including fibroids and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). However, meeting Black changed her perspective. The couple had planned to begin IVF treatments but were pleasantly surprised to conceive naturally in January 2025, just before their scheduled appointment.

Skyh Black, who stars in All The Queen’s Men, expressed his long-standing desire to become a father, influenced by his own upbringing. He shared his excitement about connecting with their child and fostering their dreams.

The couple, who married in a star-studded ceremony in Malibu in September 2023, are preparing for their new arrival by focusing on building a supportive community around them. Instead of a traditional baby shower, they are seeking emotional and practical support from friends and family as they embark on this new chapter.
