Singer Normani and NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf have announced their engagement, marking a significant milestone in their relationship. The couple, introduced by friends Ciara and Russell Wilson in 2020, began dating publicly in 2023.
The proposal took place on March 12th, 2025, during a family gathering in Houston. Metcalf orchestrated a heartfelt proposal by sending Normani flowers accompanied by letters spelling out “Will you marry me?” He shared, “I started sending her flowers with a story and then the last letter on the flower was ‘Will you marry me?’ And she said yes.”
The engagement ring features a classic oval diamond solitaire, estimated between three to four carats. Jewelry expert Olivia Landeau appraised the ring’s value between $40,000 to $100,000, depending on quality.
Metcalf announced the engagement during his introductory press conference with the Pittsburgh Steelers, following his trade from the Seattle Seahawks. He expressed gratitude to Normani for her support, inviting her to showcase her engagement ring to the audience.
The couple’s relationship has been marked by mutual admiration and inspiration. Normani has credited Metcalf with influencing some of her music, stating, “He definitely inspired a few [songs].” Their engagement adds to a series of celebrity betrothals in 2025, including those of Hana Giraldo and Kyle Massey, Jacob Batalon and Veronica Leahov, Kyle Kuzma and Winnie Harlow, and Saquon Barkley and Anna Congdon.
