Gomoa Central MP and Shatta Wale supporter Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has declared that London’s O2 Arena is too small to host a concert by the Ghanaian dancehall star.
Speaking on a television programme, A-Plus said the approximately 20,000-capacity venue could not safely accommodate Shatta Wale’s large fan base, known as the SM Movement or 4Lyfe.
“As for us, the 4Lyfe and SM Movement family, the reason we can’t hold a concert at the O2 is because that place is too small for us. If Shatta plays a concert at such a space, people might get hurt or even die because the crowd is too much,” he stated.
Instead, the camp is exploring the possibility of staging a major show at Wembley Stadium, which holds around 80,000–90,000 people, or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“We are trying to see if they would give us Wembley. We would fill up Wembley Stadium… That is where we want to play, or maybe Tottenham Stadium,” A-Plus added.
He argued that a successful large-scale concert in the UK would boost Ghana’s tourism and creative arts industry and encourage other Ghanaian musicians to pursue bigger international stages. A-Plus also congratulated fellow artiste Stonebwoy on his recent international achievements.
The comments come shortly after Stonebwoy made history by headlining a sold-out show at the OVO Arena Wembley. Shatta Wale himself had previously described the O2 as insufficient for his UK following earlier in 2026.
No official confirmation of venue bookings or dates has been released by Shatta Wale’s team.
