Jamaican dancehall superstar, Popcaan, has added his name to the growing list of global celebrities embracing Ghana’s rich cultural and wellness experiences.
During his recent visit to Ghana, Popcaan took part in the country’s renowned shea butter tradition, experiencing the viral “Kuriya Kuriya” shea butter massage at Hamamat Village, a destination celebrated for promoting African wellness, natural beauty and self-care rituals rooted in tradition.

Videos and photos from the visit quickly circulated online, showing the artiste relaxed and visibly impressed as he underwent the traditional shea butter treatment. The experience, which has gained international attention, highlights the cultural and economic value of shea butter. One of West Africa’s most important natural exports, produced largely by women across northern Ghana.
Popcaan’s Ghana trip reflects a broader trend of international artistes reconnecting with African culture, contributing to conversations around heritage, wellness and creative exchange. As Ghana continues to welcome creatives from around the world, moments like these reinforce the country’s position as a bridge between Africa and the global diaspora.
