Vanta SR has officially unveiled their debut single, SOMETHING I NEED, in collaboration with acclaimed Ghanaian vocalist Darkua. The release introduces a refined fusion of Afro-House energy and emotive R&B, marking a significant milestone for the production duo.
Vanta SR is made up of Grammy Award-winning Ghanaian producer C-Tea and Austrian drummer-composer Andi Stecher. Together, the duo has built a reputation for crafting immersive soundscapes that blend Pan-African rhythms, West African percussion and contemporary electronic dance music. They describe their sonic identity as “so dark it reflects light, a groove so heavy it creates space.”
On SOMETHING I NEED, Vanta SR’s production anchors the track with pulsating Afro-House, Afro-Tech and tribal electronic elements, creating a hypnotic, groove-driven foundation. Darkua’s smooth, melodic R&B vocals glide effortlessly over the arrangement, adding warmth and emotional depth while enhancing the track’s rhythmic intensity.
The collaboration highlights Darkua’s artistic versatility, showcasing her ability to transition seamlessly from soul-driven ballads to electronic, dance-oriented soundscapes without losing vocal character or presence.
SOMETHING I NEED is now available on all major streaming platforms, signaling a promising start for Vanta SR’s journey and setting the tone for future cross-genre collaborations.
