Cina Soul Opens Up About Her Debut CinCity Concert

Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul, alongside her A&R Purple Ames, joined the Culture Squad to discuss the much-anticipated CinCity concert, scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, at Polo Beach Club in Labadi. The duo shared insights into the creative process, planning challenges and the vision behind the event.

The CinCity concert plays cleverly on Cina Soul’s name. “We had a long list of potential names, including Metanoia, which speaks to discovery and growth,” Cina explained. “Ultimately, CinCity captured the vibe. We wanted something simple, memorable and reflective of my world as an artiste.”

She described the event as her personal city, with every element from stage design to artiste selection reflecting her creative vision. “I wanted to show people what they can expect when they enter my city,” she said. “It’s a world I’ve built for music lovers.”

Putting together a concert of this scale was no easy feat. Cina and her team faced long days, sleepless nights and countless rehearsals. “We had a recording session, interviews and rehearsals that went on until 5a.m.,” Cina recalled. Despite the challenges, she remained committed to delivering an unforgettable experience.

Purple added, “Working with an independent artiste requires handling every detail from logistics to creative direction. It’s been a tough process, but worth every effort.”

CinCity promises more than a typical concert. Cina emphasised a mix of intimacy, vulnerability and high-energy vibes. “It’s not just about love songs. I’ll be performing all tracks from my album, covering different themes, moods and energies,” she said.

The event will feature both familiar collaborators and surprise guest appearances. “I reached out to artistes I respect personally. Everyone I contacted was excited to participate,” she noted, underscoring the importance of relationships in the music industry.

Cina Soul hopes to make CinCity an annual December event. “This concert is a celebration of my music, my growth and my fans,” she said. “By God’s grace, we hope to make it a staple on the Ghanaian music calendar.”
